This year at our Spring Breakfast fundraiser event, we are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of OneGenAway. In 10 years, we have heard so many stories, faced so many challenges, and grown in so many ways, but the mission remains simple: We share hope, honor, and dignity through food.

Our board chair, Sue Dyer, has been impacted deeply by the simplicity of this mission.

“God is meeting needs — basic needs of people — through this ministry,” Sue said.

Sue has been involved with OneGenAway for years — since before our Mobile Pantry switched to the drive-thru model. She said chatting with our neighbors who come to receive food about what they’re walking through has been so meaningful and has allowed her to become more connected with her community.

“The genuine conversation with neighbors in need makes you realize that their circumstances could very easily be my circumstances sometime in the future,” she said.

She has loved connecting with volunteers, who share her heart of service, and watching our founders, Chris and Elaine, follow their calling in life.

“This has just been one of the most meaningful types of volunteer service that I’ve ever had the opportunity to be involved in.”

We are so grateful for Sue and the impact she has had on OneGenAway, and we are so glad that, like many others, OneGenAway has impacted her as well.

Over the past 10 years, there have been so many stories just like these. Each person who has served at our Mobile Pantry knows it’s a special place with incredibly special people.

We hope you will join us in celebrating all of these stories and the many stories to come at our 10th Anniversary Spring Breakfast on Friday, May 12. Click here to learn more about the event.
