SNAP Is Defunded. Hope Is Not.

When government programs pause, hunger doesn’t.
At OneGenAway, we’re stepping up to make sure hope—and food—keep flowing to every table.

More than 690,000 Tennesseans and 752,000 in Alabama are suddenly facing empty cupboards as SNAP benefits are frozen. We’ve expanded our efforts to increase supplemental food to SNAP recipients and anyone who needs food right now—no questions asked, no forms to fill out, no qualifications required.

Here’s how we’re responding:

  • Doubling volunteer shifts to meet increased demand.
  • Adding emergency food distribution dates (new locations to be announced soon here).
  • Expanding our outreach in Middle Tennessee and North Alabama, where our trucks already deliver free groceries to thousands each month.
  • Collaborating with the State of Tennessee and partner organizations to mobilize a statewide hunger response in the weeks ahead.
  • Expanding our Doorstep Pantry delivery in Williamson County.
